What is Oncology Esthetics?

As an Aesthetician, I often see conditions of the skin that do have a relationship with something else going on with the person.

Oncology is just the occasion. When a person is going through treatments designed to kill cancer cells, the skin being the largest detoxification organ of the body, certainly will respond to these treatments.

It is a normal part of the skin’s function! The skin has functions that protect, excrete, secrete, regulate temperature, register sensation and absorption. So when we go through a chemical or physical trauma the skin is our first line of defense!

With Oncology Aesthetics the treatments are geared towards helping the skin recover its natural balance. These clients may experience a dry, dull, and lack resiliency to their complexion.

The solution is our Oncology Facial which is custom tailored to each person’s skin conditions that are presenting at that time. With this custom treatment we can lightly exfoliate, but the core of the treatment is hydration and bringing back the skin’s natural barrier. The use of a finish mask to seal in the moisture is the highlight, with my custom treatment end that I developed over my decades as an Aesthetician.

This treatment is also recommended for compromised skin due to autoimmune disease and the medications delivered to treat these conditions.
